Spaying and Neutering

LONG-TERM BENEFITS TO SPAYING AND NEUTERING

                          DOGS AND CATS

Dr.Bleish recommends that all cats and dogs be spayed and neutered at sixteen weeks (4 months) of age.  Spaying is recommended prior to the first heat cycle or pregnancy may occur at as young as five to six months of age.

There are other benefits to spaying and castration besides avoiding unwanted puppies and kittens.

Other advantages to having the surgery while the pet is young is that the pets seem to have an easier recovery and you can spend less on the surgery.
